1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using GuruDojo (gurudojo.ai), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service.
2. Description of Service
GuruDojo is an AI-powered social knowledge platform that enables users to:
- Create AI-powered "Guru" avatars trained on user-upplied knowledge documents
- Interact with AI Gurus via conversational chat (text and voice)
- Browse, follow, and engage with Gurus created by other users
- Purchase token-based credits for premium AI features
The Service is provided "as is" and we reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice.
3. Account Registration
- You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.
- You may register using email/password or Google OAuth.
- Email verification is required for email/password accounts.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You must provide accurate and complete information during registration.
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
- Each person may maintain only one account unless explicitly permitted.
4. Token-Based Usage & Payments
- The Service uses a token-based credit system for AI interactions.
- Free users receive a starter allocation of tokens upon registration.
- Additional tokens may be purchased via Stripe payment processing.
- Token pricing and subscription plans are displayed on the Service and may be updated with notice.
- Purchased tokens are non-refundable except as required by applicable law.
- Tokens expire 12 months from the date of purchase if unused.
- Guru creators earn tokens based on user interactions, subject to a 35% platform fee when converting earned tokens to cash.
5. User Content & Intellectual Property
5.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of documents and content you upload to create Gurus. By uploading content, you grant GuruDojo a limited, non-exclusive license to process, store, and use your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service (training AI Gurus, generating responses).
5.2 Acceptable Use
You must not upload or generate content that:
- Is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, or defamatory
- Infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Contains malware, viruses, or harmful code
- Is intended to mislead, deceive, or impersonate others
- Violates any applicable law or regulation
5.3 AI-Generated Content
AI-generated responses from Gurus are provided for informational purposes only. They do not constitute professional advice (medical, legal, financial, or otherwise). You should not rely on AI-generated content as a substitute for professional consultation.
6. Guru Creation & Monetization
- Guru creators set their own interaction pricing (tokens per query).
- Earnings are credited in tokens and can be converted to cash subject to a 35% platform fee.
- GuruDojo reserves the right to review, modify, or remove Gurus that violate these Terms.
- Creators must have the rights to all content used to train their Gurus.
- Minimum payout threshold and payment schedule are determined by GuruDojo.
7. Prohibited Activities
You agree NOT to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without authorization
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
- Resell, redistribute, or sublicense access to the Service
- Circumvent any usage limits, token systems, or security measures
- Use the Service to compete directly with GuruDojo
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied.
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
- AI-generated responses may be inaccurate or inappropriate. We are not liable for any decisions made based on such responses.
- In no event shall GuruDojo be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you have paid to GuruDojo in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless GuruDojo, its officers, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.
10. Account Termination
- You may delete your account at any time by contacting us.
- We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or any other reason at our sole discretion.
- Upon account termination, unused tokens are forfeited and non-refundable.
- Sections 5, 8, and 9 survive account termination.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation or, if necessary, in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email notification or a prominent notice on the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
